I like Kitkats better than lollipops too, even more so now. The white background is a huge problem for me - it makes my vision go double. The font color in settings makes it even more difficult. There are problems with menus in some apps now - the background is white, but so is the text.
I just checked battery use from being let sit unused for the last eight hours and it has been awake the entire time and used 40% of the battery.
