I think I am not going to achieve much by asking another replacement since the screen problem is a common production problem with Voyage as far as I gather from the reviews.
Is it a wise decision to go back to PW2 and forget about Voyage until Amazon releases an updated version of it? Voyage killed the joy of reading for me

When considering my first DSLR I was concerned about the complaints concerning "soft" pictures and a flimsy access door for the memory card. I bought the camera anyway and never experienced either problem. After reading about how horrible Windows 8 was I avoided it until I bought a laptop that came with Windows 8..1. I like it. And, there are the horrible, horrible reports of displeasure with Anroid 5.0, Lollipop. I'm using Lollipop and have I none of the problems being reported by some.
I was equally concerned by the comments about horrible color splotches on the PW1 screens. I bought one anyway, got another as a gift, and used my sister's Paperwhite. Amazingly, none had splotches.
So, I have a Voyage now. It's fine. It hasn't killled the joy of reading for me. If I put my Paperwhite and the Voyage side by side the screens are different. The Voyage is a bit warmer. The Paperwhite light is colder. I can't say I like one better than they other. They both work fine for me.
At this point, I do not see any advantages to the Voyage that would justify the higher price.
