After reading through the thread, I have to ask: What did Kobo say when you complained? You did ask them what was going on, didn't you? After all, it sounds like they have a problem. Either the file isn't where it was supposed to be, or they had a button that shouldn't have been there.
For Obok, did you use the latest calibre plugin? That should show both DRM protected and DRM free books that the Kobo desktop application has downloaded.
