New device releases always seem to go through the same sequence here at MR:

1. Device is announced, and some people go into ecstatics claiming it'll be the most wonderful thing the world has ever seen, and their life won't be complete until they have one.

2. Device is released.
In the case of the PW1, there was a huge disconnect between the device as advertized prior to release, and the physical reality. Hardly surprising then that 1) people had high expectations and 2) people were angry and disappointed. Amazon's advertising was extremely misrepresentative of the real frontlight.
