Cheap non harmful help for back pin is a mustard plaster. mix one part mustard powder to two parts flour and enough water to make runny paste.
Put paper towel on a piece of plastic (to protect clothing)
Smear 1/2 lightly with mustard mix and fold rest of paper towel over.
Apply for twenty minutes.
Apparently the mustard reduces inflammation and has no contraindications unless you leave it on too long.
Works for me.
