Someone from the kindle department called me, and said getting screen problems when buying a PW2 was really rare. He apologized, and said it wouldn't matter if I replaced it 20 times. He also said the only people getting their accounts closed were scammers and basically criminals, and that nobody had their account closed without an extensive investigation to check for anomalies in their order history.
He was polite, but none of these things seem to be true. I have specifically seen people saying they were banned after doing what support told them, and this is why getting a 6th PW2, when keeping in mind the returns of the other products I bought, seems like a gamble. The side effect is that buying technology from them is probably risky for me now, and I don't want to be stuck with defective, non working products.
He told me to ignore those crazy stories of the internet, and to keep buying. I'm not sure how many things I'm expected to buy, or how long I'm supposed to wait until the next return. All my returns were due to broken/non working products (a phone that didn't charge, etc).
All I'm saying is the kindle spiral of doom may be dangerous for your account. Or maybe not, nobody really knows. I am, however, stuck with a less than perfect screen, and face an uncertain future. For example, buying a new model next year could be risky, because 1 or 2 replacements may always be required.
