With regard to the buttons I guess I probably simply prefer the ones that click on the Sony.

I do have all my books sorted in the collections. I started that with the first PW and then also the Fire and android apps on my Nexus. I mean I had collections before that, but they weren't cloud synced until the PW. I kind of had to redo everything at that point.
So that all the read are in one collection and all the unread books are also sorted by all kinds of perimeter. But I still do all of that in Calibre also, with tags though. I am a pretty basic Calibre user so all my books are in there with lots of tags and virtual libraries and such. But I don't plug my devices in to move stuff with calibre as others do. Its like a separate thing for me.
I do wish I could do all that sorting and putting stuff in collections on the website at Amazon. I think that would be much easier and it could then sync from there to all the devices. At least the initial set up with collections and stuff. Once everything is in place its ok. But for some reason not all of my collections always sync across the devices properly.
I have never seen a Sony, but I do get you on the physical buttons. I ended up getting the basic kindle last year, just so I could have my buttons back. Its fine in bright light outside, but I need the light. So I was happy when they made a kindle with light and buttons. They are not quite like the basic buttons of course, but for me they are the next best thing. They work pretty well. I am just happy to have buttons back period.
I am pretty sure regular buttons are forever gone from the devices.
As to cover, I'll get mine today. I got the Fintie shell cover. I was wanting something like a top flip cover and with a hand strap on the back, but no such thing. I just want the auto on. If I don't like it I'll keep using it without or find something else. I'll see.
