Because if so, the info that you need may actually have gotten pushed back to a backup file in the same location, renamed with .old.txt.
(This is what happened on my install on my Mac, since I've acquired literally thousands of official publisher promo freebies over the years, and apparently a single log file isn't enough to contain them all when the app starts up and begins the check and sync routine.)

Actually, I only have ~200 of B&N, with ~500 from KOBO and ~18,000 from AMZ. After being laid off a couple of years back, had more time than money, who have searched excessively for freebies...
I cleared all the BXXXXXX*.txt files from my computer, so I could hopefully catch a clean copy of the file. However, I've only downloaded a couple of free books since then, and apparently the file hasn't been recreated. Even doing the search f/cmd prompt, to get around all the MS search weirdness since Win2k I can't find where one has been created.
