I'm having the same problem with my iPad Air 2 (8.1.2). I managed to install iOSra in Calibre while the iPad was on the network, but after restarting Calibre, the plugin was gone. Reinstalling it only worked when the iPad was completely turned off. It seems to be persistently there now.
However, Calibre doesn't recognize the iPad at all. I've tried with Marvin, which just sits at "Ready...". Calibre does communicate happily and wirelessly with my Nexus 7 (which is not currently on, so it doesn't interfere), and other iOS apps have no issues connecting wirelessly to my laptop (Windows 8.1), e.g. Air Video HD.
Any help is appreciated.
