I guess it's good or bad luck in regard of carrying in pocket. This lived in my bodywarmer pocket almost every day for 11 months 2 weeks without an issue, just using the default flip cover, no additional protection. So I was either lucky it lasted that long, or unlucky to damage it, or naïve not to better protect it with a shock-absorbing cover. The Kindle Touch will do the same albeit I have a quite thick leather book cover for it, so certainly better protection. I can't imagine 'not' carrying it everywhere in a pocket, what other option other than a small man-bag with you all the time?
