Just as an aside, you can also setup a Task Scheduler task to wakeup your PC from sleep at a certain time of day. That might help you in the case where you try to run backups at times when your computer is asleep.

I don't use Windows often so I don't know if you can edit your existing task to do that, but you should be able to create a new one with the wakeup and then add your FreeFileSync script as the command to run. Try doing that at a different time of day than the original task and once you are sure it works you can get rid of the version without wakeup.
