Your choices are certainly reasonable, I am just curious -- if you expected "nothing", does that mean you expected the emptiness of nothingness? Everything is an expectation, even that, if only in the sense that you expect nothing to change.
Anything you do, someone has to process the money. That is why middlemen exist. I would automatically assume that "credit or paypal" meant "paypal account or one-time credit card payment with paypal as the go-between".
Just saying -- the website seemed clear to me.
I am simply observing based on your comment "The web says clearly that credit cards are accepted and even shows several credit card icons, but it turns out that no, it doesn't, unless one goes through PayPal". I have no beef in this.
