No, heavier would not be better. I want a light device, which enables me to hold it for longer periods of time without strain. I notice very minute changes in weight and next to the screen's contrast it's the most important factor for an eReader in my buying decisions.

I don't need a better battery in my eReader. I can read three or four novels before I have to charge my device. It's a non problem.

I think user-replaceable batteries is a different issue. Putting in a larger non-replaceable battery is just a dodge.
