AFAIK, KOReader passes all dictionary searches on to the command line version of StarDict,
sdcv, which has some lookup bugs.
I.e., if
sdcv can't find it, neither can KOReader. You can test your dictionary with the
Windows build of sdcv. (Put the executable and all dictionary files in the same folder and run sdcv at a command line prompt with the word as the argument.)
BTW, StarDict supports inflections, however, they need to be defined in the dictionary.
StarDict dictionaries with inflections come with an additional
.syn file. If your dictionary didn't come with a .syn file, you'll need to decompile the StarDict dictionary with StarDict Editor and add inflections to each entry.
