This is short but pretty nifty, and includes useful illustrated mini-biographies of the major players in the appendix, in case you finally wanted to put a face (or a reasonable line-drawing facsimile of one) to some of the names you might have read in the history books.

Kobo (probably just available to the UK, and probably also available at Google Play UK too, but I can't easily check that from Canada). This didn't seem to be free in any of the usual sometimes-UK-freebie-getting EU/Oceania country stores I spot-checked, though YMMV.
And this has been the selected 3rd (non-repeat) free ebook thread of the day.
Because history. In an hour!
(No, really, it's great to get a few more quality non-fiction official publisher promo freebies, which we've gotten a rather nice selection of so far this month and hopefully the trend keeps up through the new year.

Enjoy!

The Reformation was a long struggle of ideas between the established Catholic Church and the questioning of faith brought about by the Renaissance in Western Europe. Started by Martin Luther in 1517, religious dissidence spread across Europe throughout the sixteenth century, causing wars, migration and disunity. By 1648 Henry VIII’s desire for divorce led him to break with the Catholic Church in Rome and form the Church of England.
