I know this thread is about people not living in the US purchasing ebooks at amazon.com, but has anyone in the in the US or Canada been able to purchase ebooks from amazon.co.uk?

But there are territorial restrictions on the titles I want to buy: not to be sold in US or Canada. I suspect that might complicate things.

Edit: I have done a bit of reading on this and it appears as if in theory it might be possible, but would would involve doing things that are deceptive like changing my IP address and temporarily registering my devices in the UK. And apparently if Amazon figured out what I was doing it could lead to real problems.

But it seems as if I might be able to buy ebooks from amazon.co.uk if I were physically present in the UK.

Kind of frustrating. Gollancz is involved in a project publishing Michael Moorcock's books in "definitive editions." Obviously buying hard copies is not a problem but some of the titles are available only as ebooks. Who knows if they will ever be available here.
