I started flashing, but after selecting option 5, I got a message saying that file ... could not be found. I then selected "6" and got a similar message and after reboot, nothing. So I tried with an SD card with the same results. I eventually used the new firmware option and had to download and replace the firmware. I had the newest version anyway, prior to the flashing. I am putting the files, not the folder, directly on the empty SD card. I have the latest firmware. What else could I be doing wrong? I can try again later today if you need the exact file in the error message, I just have to run to work early today. Thanks!
Ok...I found time to document what I am seeing...
After I select option 5 I see:
Error copying the files from b:/files.5/5.1.1.00.18040/opt
After I select option 6 I see:
/TMP/self_upgrade/new_opt.img not found.
Thanks again!

These are error messages produced by Igorsk's Universal Flasher. The UF constructs a flashable image based on the contents in the folders; in your case the folder in the root of the sd card: files.505.1.1.00.18040.
On the sd card, check the contents of files.505.1.1.00.18040/ - drill down through the folders and make note of the contents. In the folder "application" you should see the file kconfig.xml, in the folder "resources" you should see the file applicationStart.xml and in the folder "scripts" you should see the file main.xml. Are all these files present?
