Very interesting, thank you. I will keep researching.

My mother got an Apple all in one with 16GB ram! I'm so jealous of the ram LOL!

I am not employed (kind of a forced early-retirement :-) - so I don't run power-house type graphics, word processing or anything. I use the free Photoscape app for image manipulation and Open Office. Some video watching and audio file manipulation. The laptop is an Intel Celeron 1037U 1.8GHz processor (64 bit, x-64 based), with 4 GB RAM.

My husband found windows 8.0 buggy, but the 8.1 release is quite nice, stable, and easy-to-use on his tablet. He is a univ. professor in math and engineering so uses intensive equation processing and writing programs and he is happy with his 4GB RAM.

I haven't had any bugs in one year of use, perhaps I am fortunate. Mine is not the best laptop available by any means, but it is perfect for my ebook library needs. I also have the time to be patient if something takes awhile!

Of course, my daughter has a Macbook with 12 GB RAM ;-)

Best of luck with your decision!
