Personally even if Google were cheapest by a mile I wouldn't buy there. They do weird stuff with books. Someone was telling me once about how they put them through their own separate processing or something, which I now don't remember specifics of at all, but I can say from experience that a couple books I got there were not the same as what was available elsewhere--ie, they were distinctly worse, such as including scanned material (in the epub) instead of all reflowable text.
Those were academic type publishers and may not (probably doesn't) apply to your average NYT bestseller, but it's put me off risking Google's store.
