Don't think that there is a zoom button with the long press on an image as it "automatically" zooms to full screen. BUT it looks to me like the zooming depends on the image as to its resolution & format as in jpg or png.
Both Aldiko & Mantano zooms the image automatically but don't believe that is always wanted; Moon+ is able to display an image with the associated text on the same page/screen which may be more desirable (have encountered the situation on a light novel). So what is more desirable all the time?
I was able to both do the zoom with the long press on the Nexus 7, Galaxy Pro Tab 8.4 & Kindle fire hdx 8.9. However I also was not able to zoom on the same tablets on another earlier volume of the light novel; the light novel volumes were encoded into epub by different translators.
Haven't looked at the web site to see what I can see of image's format, etc.
But a blanket statement that Moon+ Reader 3.03 doesn't zoom is in error without knowing how the image is presented. Perhaps the author my implement another option to whether to automatically zoom which also mean may be adding an additional "page"/screen when reading. Looks to me like a judgement call as the automatic zoom can change the how the text is being displayed on the previous & following screen.
