I'd suggest for someone with a big of delivery date if you pay by Gift Card the money is taken out right then and there so say if your card gets compromised or you forget about the order it's already paid for. Because once you ordered the order is lock and it takes getting special permission to change it.

You can send a gift card to yourself via email you don't have to go to a store for one. I had a gift balance from various survey sites I did and then I sent myself a gift card to add onto it so I could paid completely for Echo with gift cards.
