Try buying a NEW 32bit system
Inventory your programs (and hardware) you
use. Will they run (drivers available) on a 64 bit system? (My wife has a Janome embroidery machine that will not allow their USB drivers on x64)
FWIW Coming from XP, Think HARD about whether you want to jump to W8.1
