I tried multiple times to open calibre with the same result. I tried re-booting my computer, as well. I'm using Windows XP and calibre V2.0
 Can anyone tell me what I should be doing next? Thanks!

You have one of the (System) reasons why 2.x is locked out of XP installs.
If your hardware is up to it (CPU w/SSE2, RAM=4G+). W7 or Linux. If not, Off lease
business class W7(x64) systems can be had for ~$300
BTW FWIW I have one of the XP ones that does run 2.0 (I do get editor rare Editor crashes), but as you know, there will be no updates (currently down 15 releases). My main Library is on W7pro (one of those off lease systems

)
