1. Donīt EVER shop on a Saturday. If you cannot avoid weekends start with your Christmas shopping in January when stores are empty.
2. Donīt EVER shop with your wife (for women: with your husband). Men and women canīt be friends when it comes to shopping.
3. And last not least: Shop online. All presents are just one klick away and youīll avoid blisters on your feet and a marriage crisis.
Oddly enough, my husband and I broke all three of those rules yesterday (though we did do some online shopping together later as well) and we're still doing fine. But we have generally similar shopping patterns: plan a list, strike fast, exit as soon as possible. Back when I used to get more into the whole "Christmas shopping" thing, it was harder for us to shop together. These days, we both take a more survivalist approach, and sure enough, we're surviving.
