Oh, then you still have quite a bit of fun ahead of you. Flying Dutch is one of my favorites, and the J.W. Wells sequence (starting with The Portable Door) is quite good. Just remember that he has written some serious fiction, like the Lucia books.

You may also want to investigate Jasper Fforde's work, if you haven't already.
