I believe what you're drinking would be called 'mugi-cha' in Japanese. I much prefer it cold rather than hot. Business hotels in smaller cities and towns in Korea usually have large urns of this in the corridors of building, so guests can fill pitchers to bring into their rooms. The water quality out of the tap in rural Korea is not quite up to the most sanitary standards...
