Try charging it and then doing a factory reset using the buttons. The charging is important as some of the problems that appear to be a bricked device are really the device getting into some sort of loop. That will run the battery down and there is no external indication of what is happening.
Once it is charged for a while:
- Make sure the device is off by holding the power slider in the off position for about 20 seconds.
- Hold the light button down and switch it on.
- Release the light button when the LED starts flashing.
If that doesn't work, try it again but hold everything a bit longer.
The other thought is to check you didn't disconnect anything when you had it apart and that the SD card was inserted properly.
