It is a non-issue. You are either happy with it or not. Don't buy a Kindle if you don't like it for whatever reason. It is absurd to assume that the majority of happy Kindle users are only happy because they hacked it.
My own PW used to be hacked. I thought it was great. Until I got rid of everything, running only on stock features since then. Now I am even more satisfied with it - instead of fiddling with it I use it only to read.
