No drain on the battery is the light isn't on. On my Kindle, the light is always on so I think letting it sit for sixty minutes would be a drain the battery.
The only time this is an issue for me is in the kitchen. I preparation to eating I'll set my Kindle down on it's stand with the case open and prepare my dinner. Sometimes I get involved with something and the Kindle goes to screen saver. So, I close the case, open the case, and read. For me that's easier than finding the hidden button on the bottom. Why they don't make the button a different color from the device is beyond me.
