The cover really shouldn't open by itself with any amount of shaking if it's a decent well-fitted cover. The magnet that operates the sleep switch will keep the cover in place until you pull it apart.

I'm on the newest firmware though, 5.6.1, so any modification is out for me. I can see a 5 minute auto-sleep bad if you're using it for your cookbook in the kitchen, and I rarely cook, so I'm good hehe.

There would be other instances when it would be equally bad to have happen, I'm really surprised there is no standard feature in the software to adjust the delay for the auto-sleep.
