when you guys are done with debating jump lists, I'd appreciate your take on ransomware vulnerability. google is telling me that it CAN get into win 8 and can bypass both UAC and defender ? in which case I may as well turn UAC off ?
I have Win 8.1 and Win 7 both talking to each other. The Win 7 systems have accounts I've created just for networking and the Win 7 systems use the account the Win 8 systems use.

This way, the systems can see each other no problem. But you do need password protected networking.
