I'm pretty surprised from it- positively.
They improved a few things which the big brother, the M96, lacked off.
In example:
Pros:
- constant screen refreshes, even in full screen mode.
- with a better display (I suppose...they tweaked a bit)
- touchscreen (downside would be the sensitivity - you have to touch quite hard)
- processor (it got a faster one)
- Android 4.2 (they optimized it much better better than the Version on the M96)
Cons:
- battery drains much faster... (Especially on WiFi)
- touchscreen not sensitive enough (but I wished my M96 had it...)
- no Bluetooth
- little internal space
- no physical volume buttons
All in all, it is a pretty good and reliable eReader I would say.
I didn't notice any mature drawbacks.

Hi eb00ker,
How much faster have you noted "faster" to be? I took delivery of an Afterglow 2 yesterday, and it lost 60% of usable battery in four hours just sitting on my night stand.
