I'm sure the freight forwarding company will work well. I haven't heard about any problems with them. There is the US to OZ website.
I was more worried about two things:
(1) - registration process. Where I link the Kindle to my account. I have an account on amazon.fr cause I read french books. (As well as English). It seems to me that other people in Australia have bought Japanese Kindle versions, and I haven't heard anyone complaining. So it will probably be OK.
(2) - potentially having to return it. I think there wont be the screen problems that everyone is complaining about because by now things should have calmed down with the manufacturing process. Also, I'm not terribly visual, so I probably wont be sitting there with a giant magnifying glass examining the screen while screaming THE SCREEN GRADIENT IS KILLING ME !!! KILLING ME !!! Then have a psychotic episode.
