The best way to go from KF8 > ePub is to code shift the Kf8 to an ePub using the KindleUnpack plugin. Then load the ePub into the ebook editor and fix the errors found when validating. It's actually very easy to do and the code is as close as you'll get to a retail ePub as you can.

You'll never have conversion issues as you aren't converting. What you are doing is shifting. You are shifting from a KF8 container to an ePub container keeping the code the same.
