Exactly, the cases can make it easier to hold and if you have a Reader with side bezel buttons such as the Voyage, it's quote easy to accidentally press the button to turn the page. Easier in fact then accidentally touching the screen to turn the page.

The Kindle Basic that didn't have a Touch screen is difficult to hold without a case and without pressing a page turn button.
