I have an Onyx Boox T68, which has 480 MB of storage for apps. I haven't seen the specs for the C67 and the others, but I suspect that app space is similarly limited. The Boyue T62 has about 1 gb for apps.

I know of no way to install apps to an external sd card. That said, it is possible to move some apps - at least in part - to the internal sd card in Settings. Moreover, check out FolderMount and similar apps. FolderMount moves data from the internal to the external sd card, while letting the apps think all the data in on internal. This could be one solution for you.
