Has anyone had success in installing apps to the external storage?

This product looks great but from the limited reviews I have found it seems there is very little space allocated for apps on the internal drive (< 1 gb). I have some apps (eg OneNote) that download tons of content for off-line use that the data is stored as within the app. I know you can put files onto the external microSD card and read your books from there, but what about app installations?

I'm looking at purchasing either this or the Boyue T62. I personally find this Boox device much more attractive looking, and specs wise very comparable except for only 4gb (instead of 8gb) and smaller battery. So if I can work around this smaller internal storage I will likely choose this.
