The high pitched noise is present in all 3 devices that I owned/own - unlike other front-lit devices I had that did not have any such noise (that I could hear).
However some T68's emitt stronger noise than others and if you, like me, can hear the noise in a quiet room, I suggest to replace it (but expect the noise to be present in the replacement unit too, albeit not as loud).
