Oh, say! can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming;
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there

It was true for a battle, but true for New Year's Eve as well! What a show!
Good morning, everyone. Happy 2015! We actually stayed awake until midnight (first time in years) and watch a most incredible fireworks display from the window of our 15th floor apartment. We've an unrestricted 180° view over the entire city, and the fireworks covered 170° of it last night at midnight, lasting almost 20 minutes. I tried to film it but I guess I don't know the best way to set up the camera for night-time video yet. Too bad... It really was spectacular!
Anyway, 8am and I'm drinking Vien Joom On's "English Breakfast" tea this morning. It's a good, robust way to welcome January! Today I'll research how to use this GoPro camera to shoot fireworks, and when tonight's event begins (the Thais celebrate this Western New Years for 4-5 days, drinking and partying right through until Sunday!) I'll see if I've learned anything.
