And I though I was the only one who heard it!!
I bought two T68 devices. Both emitted this sound, however in one of them it was very faint and I could only hear it when putting my ear next to it and the other one had it so loud that whenever I read in a completely quiet room I kept hearing the sound all the time. I ended up replacing the one with the loud sound and the sound of the replacement unit it low enough so I don't hear it while reading.
And you are right - none of the other front-lit devices I had emitted such a noise.
