Card speed is mostly a concern for video, but will also be noticeable if you download large amounts of data onto the card. For instance, if you want to clean up your music library so you delete all of your music and then download the entire library back onto it. A high-speed card will write that data faster and the process will take less time.

Still, not something that many people will experience. For ebooks and music I go for cheaper cards, which are usually slower.
