I haven't read anything here lately addressing my problem. When my Fire 8.9 HDX is connected (CC v3.5.9) to Calibre (v2.14 x64), as a Wireless Device and "Device" is selected in Calibre (to view the device library), the Fire disconnects itself in approximately 5 seconds. The Fire will only remain connected when selecting "Library." This occurs only with the Fire and not other devices I use, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 10 and a Samsung Galaxy S5. Those all function normally. Note that I have purchased both Amazon and Google versions of CC and the problem is occurring with the Amazon version on the Fire.
The same thing occurred with the previous version of CC and version 2.13 of Calibre. It is very frustrating trying to manage my library on the Fire since I have to revert to my Calibre library with thousands of books to scroll through. All was working normally with the previous version of CC (Amazon) and Calibre 2.12.
Update: Now, I cannot connect at all. Below is the error log:
