Bargain @ $1.99-$2.99 each in the US from author Warren Adler (Wikipedia, IMDB), who's had many of his novels adapted to film and was really very generous a couple of years ago by offering us a good chunk of his backlist free.

Adler is holding a holiday sale on his backlist titles, republished by himself. You may perhaps know his work best from the 80s The War of the Roses comedy film with Danny DeVito in it about the feuding married couple (Wikipedia), and he's a rather well-respected literary and genre fiction author with plenty of popular bestseller-type novels, heartwarming stories of the human condition, and a few sleuthy mysteries to choose from.

A fair chunk of these have been offered free, but there are a number that have never been given to us before, and I'm planning to pick up one or two by way of thanks for the previous freebies, some of which I've read and enjoyed.

And this is a very good price for his work if you weren't around for the freebies a couple of years ago.

These are couponable @ Kobo and seem to be on sale only in the US, in all the regular US stores such as Amazon & B&N (regularly $9.99, which is still the price they are in Canada).

According to his newsletter, the sale started on the 24th, so I don't know how long it's going to last, but he'll probably keep it up through Boxing Day and perhaps even to the New Year.
