Nice & easy; was even willing to pay for them for the kindle as it was a "different" platform but now think "platform" will refer to a different basic OS. For "kicks" will see if I can get the kindle specific collins dictionary working on non-kindle androids.......

ES File Explorer will do it all for you. It's a must have on any Android device. You can back up apps to apk or you can just send the app using the send command and it will send it as a apk.
Under Library in ES File Explorer there is APP option where you can back up locally to a apk or you can send a apk. Just have ES File Explorer open on both devices to use the send command you can do this for files and folders too.
Note: You can't backup paid Google Play apps on Android 4 and up but you can Amazon Paid apps.
