That's dropping faster than it should. I would try to do a factory reset (you'll have to re-register it to your account and reload anything you sideloaded) see if that helps. It's possible you have a bad battery. It isn't unusual for big drops to occur while you're using wifi.

Part of that issue is the nature of e-ink. In the settings you can change the refresh to every 1 page and it will get rid of the previous screen "bleed through" effect in books (it's called ghosting). That may not help with the sketchpad since changing this setting may not help with the refresh rate in the sketchpad.
