Yep It's too bright now due to Sangria on all Kindle Fires with it and the only app that works to fix it is in Google Play it's called Display Brightness. It's not perfect as it sometimes when put to sleep go back to regular settings but it works fine while the device is awake and you have enable negative brightness on the app to get it dark enough. I've got mine set to -40% as the minimum and usually use about -30% for complete dark and -12 for lighted rooms.
