*sigh* i am on the "list orange"* which is the "don't call me to try to sell me stuff" list but it doesn't seem very effective. i think maybe all the people who already had my number from before, have kept it. i mostly get calls trying to sell me one of two things : a remodeled kitchen (hello, renter, not paying to remodel the kitchen, even if i had the money, which i don't) or double glass windows (see above). i keep telling them to take me off their list, and they always say "of course, so sorry" and then a month later they call me back.
luckily the political parties don't make telephone calls (yet ?), that would REALLY drive me crazy. i also hate the people who actually come to your door to try to sell you things or ask for donations. i don't even know how they get in the building. leave me alone !!
wood, i can't believe you have to pay the cell-phone bill even if someone else calls you !! that's outrageous ! isn't there a law against charging twice for the same service ? if that were the case here i wouldn't have a cell phone at all. but then cell phone calls are very expensive here ; i rarely use mine but i have it for my clients (they don't seem to mind). but then, i'm at my desk at home most of the time anyway, and i have free voip telephone service from my isp (including international, but not including french cell phones).
