Our home phone is on the US do-not-call list. Like Canada, political parties are allowed to call. Since Virginia was a "swing state", both sides were very aggressive in their calling this year. In the US t-marketers are not allowed to call cell numbers so I have been safe there. Political parties are also not allowed to call.

Unlike most of the world, in the US you pay for all of the time you use a cell phone. If you place the call or receive the call, it still counts toward you total minutes for the month.
