BR was mistaken on the comment regarding the usage of colon.

Many of us though do find it more useful to use a template like
{series:|:|}{series_index:0>3s|:|}{title:|:|}
as opposed to
{series_index:0>3s|:|}{title:|:|}{series:|:|}

This allows a "natural" sorting to be done on the device, since all books in a given series will be arranged in their logical order on the device.
