The Cougar's Timid Little Lynx by Jenika Snow is the 1st in her Sweet Water series of f/m shapeshifter paranormal erotic romances, this one an installment involving Exactly What It Says In The Title, which reminds me rather of the often-amusing output of the now-sadly-defunct Romance Novel Title Generator referenced here in an
SBTB blogpost, free courtesy of publisher Evernight and All Romance eBooks as their Christmas Countdown Giveaway selection for December 22nd.
This has 4 out of 5 flames on the heat index at ARE and no particular warnings in the tags (well, there's "alpha" and "domination", but given the general erotic romance reader demographic those might be considered not so much warnings as enticements), although it is also tagged with both "may/december" and "rubenesque" in case any of the Gentle Readers in the audience were on the lookout for romances involving older men with a preference for younger larger ladies where they both happen to be big cats, and have cute kids (kittens?) bonding together a new blended family.
Currently free, just until shortly before midnight on the 23rd @
All Romance eBooks (DRM-free choice of formats available worldwide; if you want more than one format, you'll have to go through the checkout again). If you happened to miss it, yesterday's 3-flame 3-novel omnibus edition of f/m cowboy western contemporary romances & romantic suspenses is still free for a limited time:
Riding Tall: The Box Set
If you happen to like this and wish to read more of the author's writing, there are an additional 5 titles in the
Sweet Water series (although a customer review does note that this 1st installment seemed rather different from the other stories), and Snow additionally has a large number of further titles across several subgenres available from Evernight, Totally Bound, and Siren listed on
her author page, all of which seem to be eligible for ARE's standard Buy 10 Get 1 Free offer and their periodic rebate sales.
Description
Love isn't supposed to make someone bleed, leave marks, or even make a person cry. But that was the only kind of “love” Alice Stratton knew. Wanting a new life, she takes her daughter, Joey, and moves to Sweet Water, a picturesque town that she hopes will erase her painful past.
Cougar shifter Luke Landon has given up on having a relationship after his ex-fiancée betrayed him. Now five years later he is living in Sweet Water and is the physician to more than half the town. He never thought he'd find his mate, but all it took was for his cougar to scent Alice, the timid little lynx shifter, and his whole life changed. But Alice is damaged, and has a child from another man. Can Luke heal his broken mate, be a father to a little girl who isn't his, and get past his own trust issues?
